10 Ways to End SlaveryBE PART OF THE "SAVE THE SLAVES" FREEDOM MARCH--
GET EDUCATED- learn all about what’s happening. Child sex trafficking feeds not just on lust and greed, but also on silence and ignorance. One of the most effective things you can do is what you’re doing now—get informed. Most stories are terrifying, but they must be told if we’re ever going to stop the epidemic.
SAY NO TO PORNOGRAPHY- Avoid it like the plague it is! Almost all pornography is created by victims of human trafficking. Victims who have been forced to submit themselves to the violent, and abusive circumstances in order to feed your addiction. Pornography is like drinking salt water, the more you drink the thirstier you become. This drives the prostitution business and is a perfect marketing tool for the human trafficking business.
SAY NO TO PROSTITUTION- The human trafficking industry thrives and grows according to demand. If you are using a prostitute or voting for legalized red-light districts you are creating the environment that traffickers love. Without demand, there would be no need for supply. Please choose today to never support or frequent: Massage parlours, strip clubs, Cat houses or paid sex of any kind.
READ ABOUT MODERN-DAY ABOLITIONISTS-learn what others are doing to rescue children, counsel them, and prevent others from being enslaved.
WATCH A VIDEO WITH FRIENDS- documentaries such as “Sex Slaves in America,” “Born into Brothels,” “China’s Stolen Children,” or “How to Buy a Child in 10 Hours.” Talk about ways you can stop child trafficking in your community.
START A BOOK CLUB- Terrify No More or Good News About Injustice both by Gary Haugen, Not For Sale by David Batstone, or Beyond the Soiled Curtain by David and Beth Grant, SLAVE: My True Story by Mende Nazer and Damien Lewis. Brainstorm how you can become further involved.
WRITE YOUR GOVERNMENT- Insist stricter security for prosecuted criminals and more aid for victims.
PROTEST RED LIGHT DISTRICTS- Red light districts are areas where prostitution is legal. In 1999 Sweden passed legislation that criminalized the customers and protected the prostitutes. They completely eliminated human trafficking and reduced prostitutes from at least 15,000 to less than 200! "In Sweden prostitution is regarded as an aspect of male violence against women and children. It is officially acknowledged as a form of exploitation of women and children and constitutes a significant social problem... gender equality will remain unattainable so long as men buy, sell and exploit women and children by prostituting them."
WATCH ERIC'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL- To learn more about human trafficking and hear real stories of resuced victims.
